Enlargements by Johan Rosenmunthe
Here’s an interesting piece of work by Johan Rosenmunthe.
Enlargements starts with a large image of the Manhattan skyline, which is then followed by a series of enlargements from within that image. The series is intended to examine a photo’s capacity to hold innumerable stories in synchronicity, whether we realise it or not. Successively zooming, enlarging, and cropping different slices of the image, the series is an eerie visual essay, including a nun on a ledge. Just what is that nun doing?!
It’s a bit like an artistic, real life Where’s Wally.
