Sculpture by Luca Ionescu

To mark to the opening show of The Tate in Sydney, Australia, Luca Ionsecu has produced this incredibly fine sculpture.

The show, titled ‘There Goes The Neighbourhood’ is an invitation to the creative community to take back ownership of the once-bohemian inner west suburb of Glebe in Sydney. For the show, a number of local Sydney-based artists have been invited to exhibit a whole host of personal work.

The detail in this sculpture is amazingly intricate, i has been produced using 3D software – and considering I would normally much prefer to see hand-crafted pieces of work, I still find this really impressive and quite beautiful. The work features a skull – something that is prominent in Ionescu’s portfolio.
