Should any of you be in New York, go to photographer and filmmaker Ari Marcopoulos’s new exhibition. The show, entitled “Where You Go”, opened on 10 May at New York’s Marlborough Chelsea gallery and features his latest work, much of which has been blown up so large you can see the grain in the images. Even the smaller pieces have been printed on rice paper to give them a textured appearance.
“It’s as much about photography as it is about printmaking,” explains Marcopoulos. “I think there is certain power in the images, a certain strength when you look at them. They’re kind of heavy images.”
The exhibition is running through to 16 June, 2012.
