Forming & Fragmenting

André Wee describes himself as a visual artist who is “sleep deprived from work but very oddly happy”. This, we’re guessing, is probably because the twenty two year old is still a student of Rhode Island School of Design, yet is already busy churning out stunning works across all mediums.
With roughly complete 14 series to date, we see the young artist dabbling in everything from packaging paper and rubber bands to Rorscharch ink blots and Photoshop. Two of his latest series, Forming and Fragmenting and Lineforms, present the human face and body using opposing, yet equally beautiful means—computer programs and hand drawings, respectively—showing lines that are “not only believable but breathe a life of their own”.
