Sensual portraits

Moscow-based photographer Mercuro B. Cotto is a fashion photographer who resists the more formal approach and photographs delicate, feminine figures within the flow of their surroundings.

The women in his images lose their identity as Cotto transforms them into natural objects or forms within the architecture and scenes. There is an underlying sensuality, a sense of romance or emotion that is conveyed through the softness of light and tone.

 

Its clear that the majority of his images are staged and cinematic, but there is a fluidity to each image that feels extremely natural. Cotto also captures a graceful and timeless elegance through his investigation of the female form.
