— RIP Nelson Mandela

“When a man has done what he considers to be his duty to his people and his country, he can rest in peace.”  (Mandela, 1994).

 

Nelson Mandela, ‘Father of the Nation’, towering figure of Africa’s struggle for freedom,  anti-apartheid leader and South Africa’s first democratically elected president – and a symbol of reconciliation to many around the world – has died at the age of 95.

 

In a televised address, South African President Mr Jacob Zuma said: ‘Our nation has lost its greatest son. Our people have lost a father.
