Almost out of the blue, Canon has unveiled an incredible video camera which is capable of capturing 1080p full-colour images at a ridiculous 4,000,000 ISO. That essentially means it’s able to film to a high-standard at night or in extremely dark conditions.
Of course, this comes at a hefty price and the ME20F-SH will set you back $30,000 (approx. £19,100), but in terms of low-light sensitivity it does blow everything else out of the water. It’s also perfect for drone work (as long as you don’t crash it) due to its compact size, light weight, and solid build. On the downside, the ME20F-SH doesn’t have the ability to record internally and there’s no monitor for changing settings. For all of that, you’ll have wire it up to an external recorder and monitor through HDMI or HD-SDI. Canon spin this as a positive, however, saying it allows the camera to be easily operated from a remote location, making it ideal for nighttime wildlife filming.
