THE ENGLISH GROUP: PROJECT UPDATES

The English Group has been awarded a competitive pitch to create literature for the Royal Shakespeare Company's 'Case For Support' fund raising initiative. The £128m appeal target is to provide the RSC with a new headquarters and a substantial refurbishment of its two existing theatres in Stratford Upon Avon. When completed, the project will ensure that Shakespeare's unique heritage within Stratford becomes more accessible to the millions of tourists who visit the town each year, and that the plays themselves are able to be presented to the best possible effect.

The brief for The English Group was to produce a 'definitive' fund raising appeal document that would be arresting enough to ensure that it would stand out amongst this especially crowded and highly competitive space. The large format (oversize A3) design produced offers a considered montage of both the RSC's rich heritage - featuring many of the now legendary acting talents that have plied their craft on this stage across the years - and also, a look towards the future of the Company's continuing presence both within Stratford and beyond.

The finished proposal has been entirely effective and has led to funds being raised far faster than could have been envisaged at the project's commencement. As a result of the success of the project, The English Group has also been engaged to produce a second fund raising piece to offer supporters of the RSC opportunities to name seats within the two theatres.
