26/11/08 PROJECT UPDATE: THE ALLADALE LODGE AND WILDERNESS RESERVE
The English Group has taken an active interest in the conservationist and philanthropist Paul Lister's project 'to restore the balance of nature' to large areas of the Scottish Highlands. To gain the fullest possible appreciation of Paul's far reaching goals, The English Group's founder, Marc Carter, has travelled with Paul throughout 2008 to look at other conservation projects in a number of countries in Eastern Europe and also in the UK.
Paul's Alladale Wilderness Reserve has been the focus of two TV productions this year: 'A Moose In The Glen' (a film in the BBC's flagship natural history series 'The Natural World') and the six part prime-time BBC series 'The Real Monarch Of The Glen'. Paul's conservation efforts have also been recognised with him being named 'Green Entrepreneur Of The Year' in the 2008 Spears Awards. The Alladale project is perhaps familiar to some for it's plan to reintroduce bears and wolves into the Scottish Highlands, and while the increasing likelihood of this happening in the very near future has grabbed headlines in just about all of the UK's major newspapers and magazines, actual achievements on the ground are equally impressive.
The English Group has just completed production of an evolution of the Alladale Lodge & Wilderness Reserve's brochure and trust this publication will enhance Paul's ability to communicate his goals to the broadest possible audience, and encourage many more individuals to book the Alladale Lodge and experience this unique project for themselves.
