The English Group, completed project:This publication, Press Book (the successor to The English Group’s multi-award winning publication Printed Matter), seeks to again demonstrate the agency’s design and conceptual capabilities – especially when employed without the constraints and compromises inherent in the majority of projects undertaken, which are always subject to the understandable commercial realities of the client’s market sector and competitive situations.


This publication, which also went on to win a number of creative industry awards, seeks to explore analogies between the often unexpected pleasures of accidental discovery, and the process – taken altogether for granted by designers and artists today – of establishing the first ‘fixed’ or permanent colours.
