Usually I have a very particular taste in cameras – if it’s Leica, Nikon, certain Olympus, it’s likely to be ok (and retro styling, even better) – and anything gimmicky is always a big turn off.
However, there’s something about this new compact from Casio…
The innovative, and exceptionally flexible new TRYX camera certainly arrests my attention. It’s designed to offer stills and video in every situation imaginable, and the twisty-turny possibilities its design offers are essentially endless, allowing you to hold it like a mini camcorder for shooting video or face it toward you for self-portraits. It’s very clever, and I could see the TRYX being a fun pocket cam for casual shooting at parties, and for capturing unique angles when traveling.
