This is a map printed by George Philip who was a cartographer and map publisher.
My Uncle, who is a geography teacher, prevented a selection of old maps from being thrown out of the school that he teaches in. I took a fancy to the one he has kept for himself and so he kindly gave one to me. The colours are amazing as they look as if they have been screen printed, because of the effect of the overlaid colours. This one is of the summer climate in South America and dates back to 1963.
The rest of the maps are being sold on ebay and can go for up to a couple of hundred pounds. I’m sure that if these maps were in my geography class I would have paid more attention…
