Living in a converted barn myself, this project has rather captured my imagination.
A Latvian architecture firm named NRJA (which stands for “No Rules, Just Architecture”) have come up with a concept for a floating lakeside residence for long summer holidays. Named the Floating Barn, the house is two-storeys and features a living room, a bathroom, a sleeping area, and a small deck on the first floor. To create a consistent look throughout, one material has been used for both the walls and the roof. The pontoon base of the house features large storage tanks for clean water, filtered greywater, and fuel.
Could you imagine staying here, or would you feel safer on a traditional boat?
…personally, I want one!
