Yesterday, I was pondering whether to have a tree this Christmas, and if so, whether I would make or buy all the decorations for it. So, this minimal nativity set by Royal College of Art graduate, Emilie Voirin, has caught my eye. A lot of effort can go into making Christmas look wonderfully kitsch, and my favourite decorations as a child were always the really awful homemade ones (we had a red festive bell made from a yogurt pot, the sleeve of an old cardigan and a length of wool).
So, I am undecided whether I love Voirin’s nativity set or whether it is missing the necessary level of naffness that I desire. Either way, it certainly is very elegant and beautifully made.
Sorry, is it too early for Christmas…?
