Whilst I post photography from my three days at Peter Gabriel’s WOMAD – World Of Music And Dance – Festival every year, I find myself tight for time this year so shall, just for now, post a selection of Instagram images instead.

Here’s images from the Friday line up:

Firstly, Ben Watt – ex of Everything But The Girl – performing acoustic version of tracks from his new album ‘Hedra’ in the Society of Sound stage.

The Bowers & Wilkins speakers and sound system really was sublime, as was Ben’s performance.

The next image is Mari Boine from Norway, who sings in her native Sami language.

…again, fabulous!

This is followed by Dave Okunu and his group The Invisible – big guy, big voice.

Then the delights of Barcelona based Coetus. This Catalan group were melodic and joyful and Marc was rather taken with one of the group’s female vocalists – I am sure that you can see why…

Finally, the images at the foot of this post are of Rwandan group The Good Ones. All survivors of the Rwandan genocide of ten years ago, none of them ever having left Rwanda before. Cool chilled and evocative African music to start the festival with.
